That night when they met walking on the bridge the crossed the river it felt like some guiding force was making it happen. Every molecule of air that stood between them seemed ridden with magic and stars winked and bowed in deference to the energy that was emanating off them. It was a moment so profound it seemed as if every direction of their life were all stepping stones towards their meeting. Even when they weren’t talking, they were communicating with glances, body language, and heartsong. As the moon headed for bed and the sun announced his presence, they knew they had to leave each other but vowed that neither time nor distance would ever separate them.
